19 Members of the Shaathi Mentoring Project visited the Ice Skating Rink in London Docklands as part of their monthly group session. For some of the participants it was their first time attempting to skate and for others, it was a walk in the park! Mentors and young people on the programme had the opportunity to whizz around the ice and meet some of the other young people and mentors people on the programme and share their experiences.
All of the participants enjoyed this activity very much as it was outdoors with magnificent views of the sky scrapers of London Docklands which is a very rare experience. The group visited Sahara Grill for a meal at the end of the day which was enjoyed and appreciated by all. Meals such as chicken and lamb steaks were served with chunky chips, salad with soft drinks.
