Excluded pupils project is a relevantly new project of the Youth Club & Holiday Project, the scheme focuses on working with young people for a length of 3-6 months who have been excluded from main stream statutory secondary schools within the last academic year, to engage the pupils in positive activities such as group excursions, provide regular 1-2-1 mentoring, workshops, accredited learning and volunteering opportunities.
The projects work with the Pupils during the evenings and weekends
Aims
1. Work with young Muslim males whom have been excluded from secondary school in the past , or pending exclusion or permanently excluded
2. Work directly with young Muslim pupils aged between 11-16, providing 1-2-1 mentoring
3. To work in partnership with statutory secondary schools and Pupil Referral Units
4. To work with each young person for a duration of 3-6 months tailoring provision to individual needs
Objectives
1. To help the excluded pupil to re-integrate and remain in the mainstream secondary education
2. To support the young person in tackling personal barriers and support them on any difficulties that they maybe facing from excelling on their education
3. To facilitate individual participants for a minimum of 2 hours per week in constructive learning sessions
